Harry potter prisoner of azkaban video game: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is an action-adventure video game published by Electronic Arts based on the novel Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling, and the film of the same name. It was released in 2004 on PC as well as on PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and Game Boy Advance consoles. On PC, the game was developed with the Unreal Engine. On home consoles, it was with RenderWare.

The player alternates between Harry Potter, Ron Weasley or Hermione Granger. As the game progresses, the player encounters events related to the plot of the third book in the series. The action begins quickly, in the Hogwarts Express, where the player must face a Dementor, before the intervention of Professor Lupine. The player also learns to fly on a hippogriff and to practice new spells.

Graphics and gameplay:

The decor of the game respects the universe described in the third film and is quite different from the decor of the two previous parts. The faces of the characters are expressive and increasingly resembling the actors of the Harry Potter films.

The view is in the third person. The camera follows the movements of the character (s) from behind. On the PC version, the player directs the character with the arrows on the keyboard and uses the left mouse button to activate the magic of his wand.

Progression:

The game unfolds like an adventure game with many platform phases. The progression is interspersed with several cutscenes. Learning a new spell no longer involves the reproduction of a symbol drawn on the screen, as was the case for the two previous episodes. During the lessons, the teachers alternately give Harry, Ron or Hermione challenges (in the form of obstacle courses) to practice the new spells in question. Throughout the game, the player activates mechanisms that open secret passages, sealed doors, or levitate objects to continue the adventure.

1. Professor Lupine's challenge: the Carpe Retractum allowing you to be attracted to a place or to attract an object towards you (the player plays Ron)

2. Professor McGonagall's challenge: the Lapifors and the Draconifors to take control of a rabbit or dragon statue (the player plays Hermione)

3. Professor Flitwick's challenge: the Glacius allowing you to freeze objects or creatures (the player plays Harry)

Additional course: the Spero Patronum by Professor Lupine, allowing to produce a Patronus (the player plays Harry)

Like the novel, deserving actions are rewarded with points which will increase the final score of House Gryffindor. The backups are carried out on backup points distributed at regular intervals on the route. They materialize as an open book floating above the ground.
